Christ Follower or Christian

Just because you sit in a church, doesn’t mean you’re a Christian.

Being a Christ follower, is way different from being a Christian.

I became a Christian at 16 years of age. It was when a friend took me to a youth group and exposed me to an encounter.

A Christ follower means: realizing how everything here, is worthless. I count it as garbage…. homes, money, cars, personal belongings, even job titles….are worthless…..

Philippians 3:7-14 (NLT) says:

“7: I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For His sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with Him. I no longer count on my righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God’s way of making us right with Himself depends on faith. 10 I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead. I want to suffer with Him, sharing in His death, 11 so that one way or another I will experience the resurrection from the dead!”

Pressing toward the Goal

12 “I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But, I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. 13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”

Doesn’t that speak volumes to you??? He’s calling us to Him…that’s WHY WE WANT MORE.

The Next Best Thing

Our flesh wants the next best thing. It’s how God designed us. To desire and worship…. but things of this world are not what we are to chase after….it’s HIM that we are to chase after. He calls us, through our spirit. Don’t you feel that? Don’t you feel that there is something more?

Once you find Christ…you will be set free. You will want more of Him, and less of this world. I guarantee it, because you will encounter something. You will encounter something so satisfying, so rich, so fulfilling. You will quickly let go of everything, to gain more of Him.

I pray this Holiday season, you have found the one true perfect gift: Jesus Christ.

Your soul can be saved from this wretched world…by accepting Him into your heart. His love will change you through any pain you have been through.

That’s why it’s so important to share the Gospel with our loved ones…we don’t want to leave them behind. There’s 2 places we are going…hell or eternity…..I probably don’t even know you, but I want you to go where I am going, eternity!

What’s your story? What are you searching for? What are you worshiping? What needs to change?

Lets chat about it: Find me on Twitter here

Many Blessings,

Cora
